Lasky
Coachworks was started by Marc and Monique Lasky in 1978.
Marc, having grown up locally in West Hollywood, California, was
an art major at Cal State Northridge. A member of
the Carpenter's Union at one time and a stained glass artist,
his main interest was always automobiles. Finally, in 1978
he decided to give in to his main passion of restoring
automobiles and started his business pretty much
single-handedly. Marc began doing body work, paint,
complete restorations and soon became a self-taught well-respected
body shop owner. Monique
was from nearby Pacific Palisades, California, and after being an
office manager for four different doctors over the years, decided
to devote herself to helping run her husband's business full
time.
Marc and Monique's first full-sized shop was on Sepulveda
Boulevard in West Los Angeles, California, in between
Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. After 8 years at that
location, the shop was moved to its present larger location on Federal
Avenue, not far away from its original location. Lasky Coachworks has progressed from
processing 8 automobiles a month to approximately 150
automobiles a month. The new facility includes some of the
highest state-of-the-art computer systems and technology in the industry today.
The office staff has grown into the most well-known and competent estimators
known throughout the industry. Lasky
Coachworks is a direct repair facility for such noted
Insurance companies as USAA, SAFECO and State Farm, among others.
Marc & Monique are not only the owners of
one of the most successful body shops in Los Angeles, they have
also created The
Lasky Collection consisting of antique automobiles and antique
collectibles.
The Lasky Collection of automobiles has participated in the local
Brentwood, Pacific Palisades and Long Beach parades. The
Collection has also appeared at some of the most prestigious car shows in
the world, winning numerous awards including 1st Place at the
Rodeo Car Show in Beverly Hills in August of 2000. Everyone from the very young to the elderly
enjoys The Lasky Collection. Visitors are always welcome to
come by Lasky Coachworks and view The Lasky Collection.
